How nothing works.

People launch coins on pump.fun through Useless Launch. Every coin is paired with $USELESS. Every 3 minutes each coin's tax buys the coin back and burns it, and 10% of the tax buys and burns $USELESSPAD. That is the whole document. The rest is detail.

Overview

Useless Launch is a launchpad on pump.fun, on Solana. It is a simple loop. A coin launched here carries a tax on every trade, paid in $USELESS. The engine claims that tax on a fixed clock and spends all of it on buybacks and burns. Nothing is kept, nothing is paid out.

90% of each coin's tax buys that coin and burns it. 10% buys and burns $USELESSPAD, the launchpad's own token. There is no second split and no payout to anyone.

The $USELESS pair

Every coin on the launchpad trades against $USELESS (Dz9mQ9NzkBcCsuGPFJ3r1bS4wgqKMHBPiVuniW8Mbonk), not SOL. That makes each one a sink for it:

  • Buy pressure. Buying any coin here means buying $USELESS first.
  • Less float. The $USELESS paid into a coin sits in its bonding curve and then in its PumpSwap pool. Graduated liquidity is locked for good.
  • Never sold. The tax is collected in $USELESS and spent in $USELESS. The engine never converts it to SOL or stables (except a tiny slice for network fees when an engine wallet runs dry, see engine wallets).
  • Same side. $USELESSPAD is paired with $USELESS too, so the 10% cut is another $USELESS buy into another $USELESS curve.

The "$USELESS burned" counter. It is the sum of every $USELESS the launchpad has spent on buybacks that were then burned: the coins' own buybacks, the 10% buys of $USELESSPAD, and $USELESSPAD's buybacks of itself. That $USELESS is never sold by the engine: it is paid into bonding curves and pools, where it stays. So far: – (–).

Useless Launch is an independent project. It is not affiliated with the Useless Coin team.

The tax

pump.fun lets a coin carry its own creator fee when it is paired with a token instead of SOL. Coins on Useless Launch are paired with $USELESS and launch with a 1% tax, on top of pump.fun's own fee (2.25% all-in). Buys and sells both pay it, on the bonding curve and on PumpSwap after graduation.

The tax is set when the coin is created and cannot be changed afterwards. It is paid in $USELESS to the coin's creator, which is the coin's engine wallet.

The cycle

One clock runs every coin. Every 3 minutes, for each coin:

  1. The engine wallet claims 100% of the unclaimed tax.
  2. 90% is spent on one buy of the coin.
  3. 10% is spent on one buy of $USELESSPAD.
  4. The coin and the $USELESSPAD that came back are burned on-chain.

A pot under the minimum waits and joins the next cycle. A step that fails is retried on the next cycle, because the funds are still in the engine wallet. Nothing is skipped quietly: the ledger shows rolled-over and failed cycles too.

The 10% cut

The cut is a tenth of the tax the coin already collects, not an extra fee. It is spent on one open-market buy of $USELESSPAD, on its bonding curve or on PumpSwap once it graduates, and what comes back is burned.

  • $50 of tax sends $5 to $USELESSPAD and $45 to the coin's own buyback.
  • $100 of tax sends $10 and $90.
  • $1,000 of tax sends $100 and $900.

If the buy cannot run in a cycle (for example, the amount is under the minimum), the cut is held in the engine wallet as owed, never re-split, and spent in the next cycle that can.

$USELESSPAD

The launchpad's own token (FoS1tjFxvTE1ELRY38V6GTtfbJ4QV9XkCf5oyLWvpump). It is a tax coin paired with $USELESS like every other coin here, and it runs the same loop on itself: 100% of its own tax buys it back and is burned. Its creator wallet is an ordinary wallet, so the engine only ever spends the tax it just claimed and only ever burns the tokens that buy brought in. On top of that, every coin launched here feeds it 10% of its tax.

Launching a coin

Connect a Solana wallet on the launch page, add a name, a ticker and a logo, and send the launch SOL. That covers the pump.fun create and a small permanent gas reserve for the coin's engine wallet. An optional dev buy is paid in SOL, swapped to $USELESS, bought right after the create and sent to your wallet. If a launch fails, the deposit is refunded.

Engine wallets

Every coin gets a fresh wallet that is its creator on pump.fun. That is what makes the tax claimable by the engine and by nobody else. The wallet's key is encrypted at rest and is only used to claim, buy and burn. It needs a little SOL for fees; when it runs low, a small slice of the tax it just claimed is swapped to SOL so the cycles never stop.

Ledger

Every cycle of every coin is a line on the ledger with its claim, buy and burn transactions, plus the $USELESSPAD buy and burn. The ledger starts empty. An empty window does not mint a placeholder burn.

Roadmap

Q1: burns every 3 minutes. Q2: burns every 3 minutes. Q3: see Q2. Q4: still burning. There is no token sale, no airdrop, no partnership announcement and no utility. If that disappoints you, we did warn you in the name.

Important notes

This site explains the product. Buybacks and burns depend on trading volume; no volume means no tax and no burns. Digital assets can lose value. Useless Launch is an independent project and is not affiliated with the Useless Coin team, Solana Labs or pump.fun. Nothing here is financial, legal, or tax advice. It is useless. That is the point.
